U.S. NAVAL BASE GUAM (Sept. 11, 2015) Ens. Frank Harshman, a reserve officer serving as training officer onboard submarine tender USS Emory S. Land (AS 39) stands watch as Officer of the Deck inport on the ship’s quarterdeck. Harshman aggressively pursued duty watch station qualifications upon arrival to provide support to the ship during his 108 days onboard. Emory S. Land is a forward deployed expeditionary submarine tender on a n extended deployment conducting coordinated tended moorings and afloat maintenance in the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility.
