Hideaki Shimababa (right), a liaison officer from the Japanese Maritime Self-defense, observe operations from the Sea Combat Commander Operations Center during Exercise Malabar 2015 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). Malabar is a continuing series of complex, high-end war fighting exercises conducted to advance multi-national maritime relationships and mutual security.
