New recruits of Echo Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, rush through a doorway during receiving at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 7. Recruits must move with speed and intensity at all times throughout the course of training. Today, all males recruited from west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually. Echo Company is scheduled to graduate March 4.
