U.S. Army Sgt. William Evola, a Connecticut National Guard Soldier deployed to Kosovo, with 1st Battalion, 169th Aviation Regiment, takes a written test during the Multinational Battle Group-East Soldier of the Month competition, Dec. 4, 2015, at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo. The two day competition included an evaluation on each competitor’s knowledge of the M16 rifle and M9 pistol, a physical fitness test and 4-mile ruck march, how to evaluate and medevac a casualty, and weapons qualification. U.S. Soldiers and service members from other multinational forces assigned to support the NATO peace keeping mission in Kosovo, have had the opportunity to put their military skills to the test in various competitions and races throughout the deployment.
