FORT BLISS, TEXAS – German Airmen from the German Air Force Air Defense Center here time U.S. Soldiers as they attempt to pass the swim portion of the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge March 8 at the Aquatics Training Center. For the past 10 years, members of the GAFADC have held competitions for the German military proficiency badge for the Soldiers stationed at Fort Bliss and surrounding areas. Approximately 160 to 180 Americans meet the requirements for the badge each year.
