FORT BLISS, TEXAS – Soldiers from Fort Bliss and surrounding areas begin a one kilometer run March 9 during the track and field portion of the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge competition. The run was one of three track and field events Soldiers needed to pass to be eligible for the GAFPB. The other events included a 110-meter shuttle run and the hanging pull up, which is similar to the U.S. Marine Corps flexed arm hang.
