FORT BLISS, TEXAS – German Air Force Master Sgt. Thomas Schade demonstrates the features of the standard German military side arm to American service members March 9 at the Fort Bliss Rod and Gun Club. The Americans were assembled to take part in the marksmanship portion of the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge competition, which took place March 7-11. Shade is the noncommissioned officer in charge of the German Air Force Air Defense Center, and was also in charge of running the GAFPB competition.
