NEWPORT NEWS, Va., (April 8, 2016) Peggy McCormack, Capt. Richard McCormack's wife, moves his command-at-sea device from the left side of his jacket to the right signifying he has assumed command of Pre-Commissioning Unit Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78). Ford is the first of a new class of aircraft carriers currently under construction by Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipbuilding.
