FORT BLISS, TEXAS – Airmen run by Air Force Master Sgt. Gabe Rodriguez, an Air Force Ranger Assessment Course instructor, April 19 as they complete a five-mile run during the Ranger Physical Fitness Test. The RPFT was the first of many physical and mental tests the 24 candidates will have to endure during the 15-day course, which is a requirement to be considered for U.S. Army Ranger School. The course runs from April 19 to May 3. The RPFA is similar to the Army Physical Fitness Test, but requires a five-mile run, and for candidates to complete six pull-ups.
