FORT BLISS, TEXAS – Air Force Pre-Ranger candidates do push-ups under the watchful eyes of the Pre-Ranger cadre April 19 before beginning the combat water survival test at the Aquatics Training Center here. Twenty-four candidates from around the Air Force are attending Air Force Ranger Assessment Course 16-01, which takes place April 19-May 3. The course is a requirement for all Airmen wishing to attend the U.S. Army Ranger School at Fort Benning, Georgia. The Air Force sends approximately 10 Airmen a year to the course. Since 1953, 253 Air Force personnel have graduated from Ranger School.
