Chad Rutan, an instructor, or "black hat," with the U.S. Military's Jumpmaster School, observes Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Soldiers load a C-130 aircraft for the comprehensive test phase of their onsite jumpmaster training, a parachute jump over JBLM, April 13. The Fort Benning, Ga., based instructors arrived at JBLM last week to train the more than 60 Soldiers on proper techniques and procedures necessary to become a U.S. Army Jumpmaster. As Jumpmasters, Soldiers will be able to direct troops out of aircraft during parachute operations.
