Col. Ronald A. Maul, the final commander of the 44th Medical Command, uncases the unit's new colors, with the assistance of Lt. Gen. Frank G. Helmick, commanding general, XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg, as it is reactivated as the 44th Medical Brigade. The 44th MEDCOM was deactivated after 10 years of service as a command and reverted back to the 44th Medical Brigade April 21.
