160721-N-NF288-012 SOUTH CHINA SEA (July 21, 2016) Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class (SW/AW) Joshua Dingman, from Lorraine, New York, gives a safety brief to search and rescue swimmers and members of the boat crew of a rigid hull inflatable boat on the starboard boat deck aboard the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) before conducting boat operations. The boat crew consists of a search and rescue swimmer, a boat officer, a boat engineer and Dingman, who served as the boat’s coxswain, who is overall in charge of the boat and the crew. Ronald Reagan, the Carrier Strike Group Five (CSG 5) flagship, is on patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
