160727-N-WA993-112 YOKOSUKA, Japan (June 27, 2016) – Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class (AW/SW) Terry Stokes, from New Britain, Connecticut, applies grease to a bolt on a jettison locker on the starboard catwalk of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). “Greasing the dogs help us take it off faster when there is an emergency,” said Stokes. “The jettison locker contains marine location markers that are supplied to helicopters in case of man overboard. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
