160720-N-TR165-071 DA NANG, Vietnam (July 20, 2016) Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman Simon Hernandez, a native of Luling, Texas, and Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Linda Cassidy, a native of Green Cove Springs, Florida, assigned to hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) give a lecture to local nurses during a subject matter expert exchange at Da Nang Oncology Hospital. During the lecture they discussed basic mechanical ventilation, to include: indicators, artificial airways, ventilator settings and different modes of ventilation. Mercy is joined in Da Nang by JS Shimokita (LST-4002) and Vietnam People's Navy ship Khánh Hóa for Pacific Partnership 2016. Partner nations are working side-by-side with organizations to conduct cooperative health engagements, community relation events and subject matter expert exchanges to better prepare for natural disaster or crisis.
