160726-N-IN729-142 WATERS SOUTH OF JAPAN (July 26, 2016) Capt. Buzz Donnelly, commanding officer of the U.S. Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), addresses the crew during an all hands call. In his remarks, Donnelly commended the crew for their efforts at sea after 53 days of strike group operations in the western Pacific, including the waters south of Japan, the Philippine Sea and the South China Sea, to improve combat readiness, develop cohesion as a strike group and engage its partners in the region. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
