Michael Mercado,Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton Family Medicine Faculty Associate Program Director, leads the instruction of a Communication in Healthcare class, August 16, 2016. The CIH course is a four-hour peer-led training program that promotes better communication between patient and provider. The course addresses one-on-one communication skills like mindfulness, reflective listening, information gathering, and setting a joint agenda in every-day interactions with patients and peers.
