PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 13, 2016) – Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (handling) 1st Class Daniel Lloyd, from Salisbury, N.C., observes Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (handling) 3rd Class Caleb Lambert, from Modesto, Calif., and Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (handling) 3rd Class Carlos Campbell, from Pensacola, Fla., launch an MH-60S Sea Hawk, assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 21, aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). Makin Island, the flagship of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is conducting integrated training with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit off the coast of Southern California, in preparation for a scheduled deployment.
