HOPE HULL, Ala. (Sept. 17, 2016) -- Col. Roger A. Presley, Jr. (right), the incoming commander of the 122nd Troop Command, Alabama Army National Guard, holds the unit colors, symbolizing the authority and responsibility for the 122nd he assumes as he takes charge of the unit during the change of command ceremony at Army Aviation Support Facility #1, Fort R. W. Shepherd Armory, here, today.
Col. Zachary E. Maner (far left), the outgoing commander of the 122nd, Command Sgt. Maj. Wiley P. Russell (far right), the command sergeant major of the 122nd, and Maj. Gen. Charles Lynn Gable (hidden from view), the Assistant Adjutant General of the Alabama Army National Guard, are assisting Presley with the display.
Attending the event were more than 150 service members from within the 122nd, select members of the Alabama Army National Guard leadership and guests that included families and friends of service members participating in the ceremony. The 122nd has command and control of all of the aviation units in the Alabama Army National Guard.
