Sgt. Dradley Desamours and Pfc. Robert Morris, military police officers with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Central Command 17.1, observe a notional improvised explosive device from higher ground during counter-IED training on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Sept. 30, 2016. The training consisted of classroom instruction about the enemy’s mindset in their use and employment of explosives and a hands-on practical application on how to find and confirm the presence of IEDs, and how to properly use counter-IED equipment. A final patrol was conducted to evaluate the Marines’ abilities to properly react to an IED threat. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Shellie Hall)
