Gunnery Sgt. Gabriel Machado, a para loft chief with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, stands by for the MV22 to reach the 10-thousand feet elevation to execute a free-fall jump during an aerial insertion behind the enemy lines training at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Oct. 4, 2016. This training allows the recon Marines to access environments unattainable to vehicles while providing minimal detection.
