A U.S. Airman assigned to the 1st Expeditionary Civil Engineering Group signals an Airman dumps rock in a trench furing runway repairsat Qayyarah, West Airfield, Iraq, Oct. 7, 2016. Rock needs to be graded down before concrete can be poured. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) destroyed the runway using heavy machinery and explosives to disrupt coalition forces from gaining any control in the area. A Coalition of regional and international nations have joined together to enable Iraqi forces to counter ISIL, reestablish Iraq’s borders and re-take lost terrain thereby restoring regional stability and security.
