ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 20, 2016) Seaman Courtney Caldwell, from Denver, conducts daily maintenance on the aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) valve alignment in a passageway aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Caldwell serves aboard Ike as damage controlman and is responsible for maintaining the ships fire fighting and shoring capabilities. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
