    Fullerton, Calif., native and Alpha Battery Company Officer, Captain Richard Lee of the 1st Battalion, 12th Marine Division checks his notes after arriving on the beach of Bellows Air Force Base, Hawaii, July 11, with the help of a U.S. Navy Landing Air Cushion class hover craft during the Rim of the Pacific Exercise. RIMPAC is a biennial exercise which is intended to increase the tactical proficiency of participating units in a wide array of maritime operations by enhancing military-to-military relations and interoperability. There are 14 nations, 32 ships, five submarines, more than 170 aircraft and 20,000 personnel participating in RIMPAC which is the largest maritime exercise in the world.
