The team from Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, monitor their system during the demonstration of the counter unmanned aerial system they created for the 2016 Air Force Research Laboratory Commanders Challenge at the Nevada National Security Site, Las Vegas, NV., Dec. 12, 2016. Teams were given six months to develop a complete system to aid in base defense. Lackland's system is a multi-layered defeat system which uses radar, WiFi hacking, GPS spoofing and cameras to identify and track unmanned aerial systems, and a custom remote-controlled immobilization vehicle for capturing downed drones.
