A remote controlled immobilization vehicle fires a net over downed unmanned aerial systems, to display it's capabilities as part of the counter UAS solution developed by the team from Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, during the 2016 Air Force Research Laboratory Commanders Challenge at the Nevada National Security Site, Las Vegas, NV., Dec. 12, 2016. Teams were given six months to develop a complete system to aid in base defense. Lackland's system is a multi-layered defeat system which uses radar, WiFi hacking, GPS spoofing and cameras to identify and track unmanned aerial systems, and a custom remote controlled immobilization vehicle for capturing downed drones.
