170113-N-YL053-350 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Dec. 28, 2016) - Information Systems Technician 3rd Class Christopher Carlson, attached to the U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), uses a needle gun to chip away paint on the ship's bridge wing. Blue Ridge is currently in an extensive maintenance period in order to modernize the ship to continue to serve as a robust communications platform in the 7th Fleet area of operations.
