Squadrons from 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward) are lined up down the flight line here in an expeditionary environment, where they work out of tents and conduct maintenance under large canvas hangars the Marines refer to as "clamshells.” Squadrons use netting to shade their walkways and work areas from Afghanistan's harsh sun, and construct makeshift furniture from spare wire and cushions as they do as Marines have done since the birth of the Corps
