UH-60M Blackhawk helicopters await their turn to takeoff from Simmons Army Airfield, Sept. 17, for the final evaluation flight certifying 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade pilots to fly the aircraft. Sixteen Pegasus pilots, graduated the qualification course for the newer version of the helicopter, Sept. 20, marking the beginning of the Pegasus Brigade’s transition to becoming the Army’s first combat aviation brigade to fully convert from the older UH60L model to the much evolved UH-60M model Blackhawk helicopter. The All-American CAB should be reaping the full benefits of the new Blackhawk by April 2011 when they, when they are scheduled to have almost 50 UH60M Blackhawk helicopters, including the HH-60M, or medical evacuation series, as well as nearly 150 UH-60M qualified pilots on hand throughout the brigade.
