PACIFIC OCEAN (April 5, 2017) An MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the "Eightballers" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 8 delivers supplies to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Howard (DDG 83) during a vertical replenishment (VERTREP). Howard is currently underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group’s assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
