PACIFIC OCEAN (April 6, 2017) Electrician's Mate 3rd Class Austin Wagner, from North Bloomfield, Ohio, radios his team during a main space fire drill aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Howard (DDG 83) while underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group’s assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
