PACIFIC OCEAN (April 6, 2017) Members of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Howard (DDG 83) engineering training team man the central control station during an engineering training evolution while underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group’s assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
