Shown are rock tools Found in a lava tube site found by the PTA cultural resources team, these look like waterworn stones which were possibly bird cooking stones (the rocks are heated up and inserted into the abdominal cavity of the bird, then the bird is wrapped in leaves and cooks).
On April 20, 2017, PTA invited the island's schoolkids and members of the public to come tour PTA and see the results of its decades-long cultural and environmental efforts, including archaeological artifacts like this, which illustrated some aspects of ancient Hawai'ian culture. A dozen lanes highlighted these and more, including PTA's leadership with recycling, emergency services, safety, hunting and community partnerships.
