(KOROR, Republic of Palau) - U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Kemmel Bankhead(left) and Maj. Erin Stibal(right) take over the airwaves of a local radio station Sept. 24, 2016. They deliver a 2-hour show every Saturday night to discuss topics related to the Civil Action Team mission, upcoming events and play some of their favorite music that is heard throughout the island chain.
Service members assigned to the Civic Action Team(CAT) take pride in working with the community and making a lasting impact. The CAT Palau mission is to provide construction capabilities, apprenticeship training, medical outreach, community relations, as well as disaster relief and humanitarian support to the Republic of Palau in order to further a positive U.S. presence.
It’s a tri-service rotating team of Army, Air Force and Navy Seabees and each is typically comprised of one officer and 12 enlisted personnel with a variety of engineering and medical skills. Teams have been deploying to Palau for more than 45 years and continue to serve the community in critical areas of need. The team’s dedication to the mission is unmatched and reflected in the quality construction and genuine relationships with the community. (Photo by Amy Forsythe, Defense Media Activity Guam)
