A B-52H Stratofortress departs Royal Air Force Fairford, United Kingdom, June 11, 2017, in support of exercise Saber Strike 17. Saber Strike is the seventh iteration of a long-standing U.S. Army Europe-led cooperative training exercise. This year’s key exercise objective will be training and exercising with the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroups with a focus on promoting interoperability with allies and regional partners and improving joint operational capability across a variety of mission sets. The B-52 long-range conventional and nuclear bomber is capable of dropping or launching the widest array of weapons in the U.S. inventory, including gravity bombs, cluster bombs, precision-guided missiles and joint direct attack munitions.
