1706627-N-AZ808-105 PACIFIC OCEAN (June 27, 2017) – Cmdr. Dennis Metz, the mini boss aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) prepares for a boot shoot on the flight deck. Boot shoots are a Navy tradition in which a ceremony is held for the departing shooter by launching a pair of boots off the ship by catapult.
