BREMERTON, Washington (June 24, 2017) Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility employees and USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) Sailors take part in crane operations to hoist a Tilly crane onto the ship’s flight deck. Tilly cranes are used on aircraft carriers for crash and salvage maneuvers during flight operations. John C. Stennis is conducting a planned incremental availability (PIA) at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, during which the ship is undergoing scheduled maintenance and upgrades.
