PACIFIC OCEAN (June 28, 2017) Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class Lonnie Barnes, left, and Master Chief Naval Air Crewman David Granger perform maintenance on an E-2D Hawkeye early warning and attach aircraft assigned to the "Blue Tails" of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 121, aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The ship is on an underway period in the U.S. 7th fleet area of operations. The U.S. Navy has patrolled the Indo-Asia Pacific routinely for more than 70 years promoting regional peace and security.
