170627-N-PJ626-299 WESTERN PACIFIC (June 27, 2017) Explosive Ordnance Disposal 2nd Class (EWS/PJ) Michael Abel from South Hampton, New Hampshire, inspects a mannequin for simulated explosives aboard the Navy’s forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), during an integrated training drill involving ship security force and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) personnel. The drill was designed to test the ability of Reagan security forces and EOD teams to work together to defend the ship in the event of a security breach. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
