(August 1, 2017) Landing Craft Utility (LCU) 1630, assigned to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 1, participates in a Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA) load exercise after launching from the well deck of amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23). DSCA events are designed to provide DoD assets to civil authorities in response to requests for assistance for domestic emergencies, law enforcement support, and other domestic activities, or from qualifying entities for special events.
