170801-N-GG858-061 PACIFIC OCEAN (August 1, 2017) An Army CH-47D Chinook helicopter lands on the flight deck of San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23), as part of a Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA) event. DSCA events are designed to provide DoD assets to civil authorities in response to requests for assistance for domestic emergencies, law enforcement support, and other domestic activities, or from qualifying entities for special events.
