The event was part of a month-long pilot course on infantry tactics the Marines of the MTT were teaching to Dominican service members. The MTT in the Dominican Republic is one of several teams from SPMAGTF-SC being deployed to Caribbean and Central American countries to conduct training with their counterparts there. The Marines and sailors of SPMAGTF-SC are deployed to Central America to conduct security cooperation training and engineering projects with their counterparts in several Central American and Caribbean nations.
