MOUNT BARTLE FRERE, Australia – Corporal Ke Mei Luo, right, a soldier from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, receives a route map with instructions before leading her team to the summit of Queensland’s highest peak during Exercise Kowari 2017 Aug. 28, 2017. Lou was appointed to lead her group of U.S. Marines and soldiers, along with soldiers from the Australian Army and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army up the 1,622 meters climb which traversed through adverse rainforest terrain. Kowari is an annual adventure training activity held in Australia to reinforce trilateral military relationships, trust and co-operation between Australia, China and the United States.
