In this image released by the Texas Military Forces, more than 3,000 current service members in attendance, more than 1,100 soldiers and their family members were brought in by bus from Fort Hood, Texas, for Armed Forces Appreciation Day at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in Houston, Texas, Tuesday, March 2. Prior to the start of the days events, volunteers from various committees served over 650 pounds of sausage and brisket each to the veterans and current service-members and their families able to attend the event. In addition to the food provided during the event, two Texans cheerleaders, Ms. Houston, Annie Flores, and Miss Rodeo Texas Princess for 2010 and 2011 were on hand to sign photos for the troops.
