Headquarters and Alpha Company, Honor Platoon from Fort Jackson, South Carolina, fire blank rounds from World War II-era 75mm cannons honoring the promotion of Brig. Gen. Kris A. Belanger, Commanding General, 85th Support Command. Belanger was promoted on September 2, 2017 at Fort Jackson in front of friends, family, co-workers, and Soldiers she worked with previously. Belanger said that being selected to lead the 85th Support Command is a true honor. She said that she is humbled by the trust of senior leadership to give her a role, allowing her to ensure that Soldiers, across the country, are ready to fight fast if called upon. Belanger will officially assume command of the 85th SPT CMD in October.
