Sgt. Wade Baylock, a Soldier with 1st Battalion, 128th Infantry, 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, verifies identification of a Florida resident at a traffic control point in southern Florida Sept. 15 before letting them pass through. The Soldiers working at the traffic control point allowed citizens to return to their homes in areas that had been declared safe. On Sept. 8, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker signed an executive order, which authorized the adjutant general to call elements of the Wisconsin National Guard to state active duty, as necessary.
