Broward County Mayor Barbara Sharief speaks to Wisconsin National Guard Soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 127th Infantry, 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, on Sept. 16 about the positive impact they had on the citizens of Broward County as a result of their Hurricane Irma relief efforts. The Soldiers handed out food and water, cleaned up local parks, conducted health and welfare checks, and provided additional security to support the civil authorities of the county. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker issued Executive Order 254 Sept. 8, which authorized Wisconsin’s adjutant general to call Wisconsin National Guard troops to state active duty to assist Florida through an Emergency Management Assistance Compact request made by Florida Gov. Rick Scott. (112th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment photo by Spc. Amanda Stock/Released)
