ATLANTIC OCEAN (September 15, 2017) Command Master Chief Ryan Lamkin removes the pennant after the decommissioning of the Chief Petty Officer (CPO) 365 training ship, USS Tomich (DE 242), during the chief petty officer pinning ceremony on the flight deck aboard multipurpose amphibious assault ship, USS Bataan (LHD 5). The ship and its ready group are deployed in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
