170923-N-RD713-101 WHITE BEACH, Okinawa (Sept. 23, 2017) A landing craft air cushion (LCAC), assigned to Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7, approaches the well deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) during an emergency recovery drill as part of an amphibious maritime warfare (AMW) exercise. AMW aims to enhance the interoperability and amphibious maritime capabilities of the Bonhomme Richard through a multitude of well deck evolutions. Bonhomme Richard, flagship of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group, is operating in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to enhance partnerships and be a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
