EDINBURG, Texas (Oct. 2, 2017) William Garcia, education services specialist, Military Entrance Processing Station San Antonio, briefs educators about the benefits of their students utilizing the Career Exploration Portal during Educators Day of the 2017 Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology Week (HESTEC) held on the campus of the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley. HESTEC is a nationally recognized model for promoting STEM careers to students of all ages. Now in its 16th year, the program has been recognized as a “Bright Spot in Hispanic Education” by the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics.
